[On screen: A silhouette of a person walking in a passageway behind a translucent glass pane. The setting sun casts a warm glow and creates a glare that partially obscures the view of the person. The scene transitions to two people, a man and a woman, are standing indoors and appear to be engaged in a conversation. The man is wearing a dark suit with a patterned tie, and the woman is dressed in a black blazer with a white and black patterned scarf. They are both looking down at some papers the woman is holding. ]
[On screen: Hans Himmelman, First Vice-President, Investment Advisor, Portfolio Manager, CIBC Wood Gundy, wearing a dark suit with a polka-dotted tie and has a serious expression as he looks slightly off-camera.]
HANS HIMMELMAN: Initially, the business was all about investment management and portfolio construction, which still continues to be the main focus of our business, but as clients needs have evolved and become more complex, we are now offering other solutions such as financial planning, wealth and trust services, succession planning, and also a private banking offer.
[On screen: Hans is sitting in front of a multi-screen computer setup, seemingly contemplating the data displayed. He is resting his chin on his hand, and the focus is on his thoughtful expression. ]
HANS: In addition to our investment process and our philosophy, we offer comprehensive financial solutions to adapt to each individual client. Whether it's to retire early, travel, buy that vacation property, fund your children or grandchildren's education, establish a charitable foundation. If it's important to you, it matters to us.
[On screen: A woman with blonde hair and glasses is seen in profile. She is seated and appears to be listening intently to the woman next to her. ]
[On screen: Hans is seated at a desk in an office, looking directly at the camera with a slight smile. He is wearing a suit and the same polka-dotted tie as in earlier images. The office is well-lit and features computer screens and office paraphernalia in the background. ]
One thing I would say, I feel very grateful because we have great clients. They're nice people, involved in many aspects of our community, and I just feel honored that they've entrusted us to be a part of their lives. It's not just them.
[On screen: Four individuals are seated around a table in a well-lit room with large windows. ]
It's their cousins, their brothers, their sisters, their daughters, their sons, all stemming from one client. The reason they've done this is that they felt that we've done a great job for them, and they trust us enough to refer us to other family members.
[On screen: Hans is sitting by a window in an office, talking on a black telephone. He has a slight smile on his face. The backdrop shows a cityscape with buildings and trees, diffused by the focus on him. ]
I love the business. I love the relationship with our clients. We have a terrific list of clients that we've dealt with for many, many decades. We talk about other things other than money and finance because we're a part of the family, and our clients feel that, that we do care, and that we want to help them out in any way that we can.
